I wanted to pass on details from an excellent article in the Economist from earlier this month reviewing three recent books on Data Visualisation
What's great about this article is that it describes what we focus on delivering on our client engagements here at Coolgarif Tech: "computer technologies and visual techniques that will depict data at scales and in forms previously unimaginable".
My favourite quote from the article is the following: "Translating data into images allows people to spot patterns, anomalies, proportions and relationships. When done well, it lets the eye create the narrative; people teach themselves, rather than being told".
Based on these reviews I'm going to invest in Data Points: Visualisation That Means Something. Something to read during lunch!
